Image Capture says No Device Connected ?
Check that the power is on (green light) and check that the USB cable is plugged into the Mac
Tips
Remember 300 dpi is for printing - 300 dpi at the size you want to print (you need to adjust before scanning or taking photographs to ensure you have enough dpi (dots per inch) to play with. For on screen the dpi does not matter, pixel size is the only thing you need to worry about, here is a link to debunk the 72dpi myth and the following images.
