Equipment

Media Stores loan an array of Audio Visual equipment including cameras and photography related equipment, video cameras, data/video projectors, dvd players, TV's and audio recording equipment.

Equipment is generally divided into two categories: 2 day loans and 7 day loans.

Regulations

Media Stores is a shared resource across the entire school and all levels of study. Equipment
is available to staff and students after the relevant induction/workshop. Some equipment is only available for certain Pathway's. Please ask for more information.

To ensure efficient use of our equipment and studios, there are guidelines regarding booking.
Failure to meet the guidelines may violate the terms and conditions of WSA loans and further action may be taken.

If equipment is returned late you will be suspended from Media Stores. If equipment is lost, broken, or not returned after 28 days, you will be invoiced for the full replacement cost.

Media Stores Conditions

  • You must check your @soton.ac.uk e-mails daily.
  • Return equipment on time

You MUST contact Media Stores if:

  • You can not return equipment on time
  • A piece of kit is faulty or items are missing
  • You are getting overdue e-mails after having returned equipment

Terms and Conditions of Media Stores Loans:

  • You must bring your ID (2.4)
  • By loaning any equipment, you are responsible for it until it is back in stores. (8.1.3)
  • Equipment must be returned in the same condition it was in. (5.2)
  • If equipment is damaged, you will be invoiced for repair costs. (4.4) (9.4)
  • Equipment must be returned by 16.00 on the return by date. (3.4)
  • If equipment is overdue, your account will be suspended and remain suspended for 7 days after the last piece of overdue equipment is returned. (3.5)
  • If equipment isn’t returned after 1 month from the return by date, you will be invoiced for the full amount. (3.6)
  • Media Stores reserves the right to refuse loans. (2.6)
