Drypoint Step-by-Step

Line, texture and tone. Creating Drypoint prints.

In Drypoint a hard needle is used to create scratches across the surface of the plate, creating a burr. It is this burr that holds the ink, and allows the image to be printed, producing images that are easily recognised by their soft fuzzy line.
